What a match so far
It is half-time at Pittsburgh and Cleveland are off to a great start with a lead of 21-9. The Cleveland offensive players were expected to carry the team going into this game with some good help from special teams. In what has possibly been something of a shock to Pittsburgh, Cleveland’s defensive unit have stepped up and played some of the best football I have seen from them all year. Three times now they have stopped Pittsburgh in the red-zone and Pittsburgh have had to make do with 3 field-goals. The last of these was just before half-time when a Pittsburgh looking poised to get their first TD of the game were forced to take the kick again after a great sack on Ben Rothlisberger by Antwan Peek. Add to this a fantastic offensive performance of a touchdown on Cleveland’s opening drive and the longest drive by Cleveland for 5 years apparently. Special teams were on fire as always and Joshua Cribbs set up one of those touchdowns for us by returning a kick-off for 90 yards. A few penalties have occurred but those that have are mostly hurting Pittsburgh, tempers seem to be flaring a little on their side.
I might need to get rubber sheets out to follow the second half safely ![]()
