Ongoing battle with paypal
Monopolies, or near monopolies are a scourge we have to deal with sometimes in this capitalist nightmare of a world, I will minimise this rant by pasting in the latest message I sent to to Paypal rather than re-iterating the story…
I have been receiving calls from a collection agency regarding outstanding balance, I was under the impression that due to our ongoing dispute this would stop once we had a resolution but checking again I see that my communications have been ignored and my account shows no open issues.
You admitted making an error some time ago which caused me to get charged £35 by my bank. You tried to get out of this at the time and I had to confirm the situation with the bank, which I did. The mistake was paypal’s - you tried to take money twice from my account (and there was insufficient funds the second time). Under the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme - YOU, PAYPAL, are liable for this error - this has been confirmed by my bank - YOU, PAYPAL, requested the payment and the bank has made no error.
In the meantime I have gone back over my bank records regarding the £50 you claim I have gone “overdrawn” by in my paypal account and the only reason I can see for this is yet another screwup at paypal where you have paid the seller on ebay and failed to take the money from my card account (which had sufficient funds at the time), quite how this can happen I am not sure.
In conclusion, I would like you to deal with this matter ASAP to stop me getting harrassing phone calls from Interim Justicia. I will not pay you any money until this entire situation is resolved. In good will, you should have the decency to simply zero my account and reactivate it. If you choose not to I will pay the £15 balance due by my calculations, no more and I will cease to use paypal (and by extension, ebay) which will cause inconvenience but I will not be bullied because you are in the position of power and can afford to lose one small customer.
